Ladies and gentlemen, may I present my first gardening success! Behold, the epic beauty of the cosmos! No, seriously-- this is a cosmos flower just starting to sprout!

Can you see the little guy trying to push through the soil in the center of this picture? He is having a tough time with the clod of dirt that is attempting to keep him down. But here's the ingenuity of the sprout: If you just bend then you can get your first leaves out there and the dirt doesn't stand a chance! After this guy shakes off that pesky bit of soil, he will be able to spread his little leaves just like big brother on the right there. You can do it little guy!
